Intense Pulsed Light & Nd-Yag Laser

Both IPL and Nd-Yag laser reduce hair growth by destroying the growing hair follicle with a measured amount of heat. The main difference between the two parts of this system is the speed of the individual treatment. The Nd-Yag Laser treats individual hair with each heat emission, the IPL is used for larger areas with dense hair growth and the Nd-Yag laser for smaller areas where absolute precision is required.

How Does It Work?

Controlled heat is applied to the hair, which is then selectively absorbed by the melanin in the hair (the substance which gives hair its colour). The heat travels down the hair shaft and damages the growth of the follicle. After repeated treatments the subsequent damage to the hair follicle results in a significant reduction in the growing capacity and therefore permanently reduces the hair in the treated area.
